Case Study 3 – Installation of Membrane Bioreactor Treatment Plant. (MBR)

MTES were tasked with the installation of a new RN training plant at Gosport.

The MBR plant required the fabrication of a large steel support base constructed from Mild Steel Universal Beams to provide a rigid raised platform approx. 8m x 8m.

The MBR was delivered to site and positioned onto the completed platform, MTES then had to carry out the site installation of various pipework, main electrical supply and installation of control panel to make the plant operational.

All pipework services were installed in ABS pipe and fittings to prevent future corrosion issues and the unit was successfully commissioned by Wartsila and put into service.

MTES also had the task to install a new Volvo Diesel Generator set.

This involved the fabrication of a bespoke steel support frame for the engine to sit on along with the installation of a diesel and exhaust system. On completion the exhaust system was insulated with Aluminium cladding.
